A design journal for the web

I joined The Manual in 2014, editing several pieces for Issue 4 and seeing it through to completion in print and on the web. Then as Editor-in-Chief, I developed Issue 5 from concept to publication. I worked closely with invited authors through rigorous rounds of revision. Issue 5 is the first issue featuring an equal number of women and men.

I also worked closely with the publisher, Andy McMillan, and the designer, Paulo Pereira, to redesign the site for the launch of Issue 4. This included a thorough audit of the archives, concise summaries of each article, revised author bios, and a system of browse-able themes that spanned all issues.
