Dropbox Android redesign
Making the iPhone app jealous
Designer Alex Miles created a daunting task for himself: redesign the Dropbox Android app in a way that would give the iPhone app a run for its money. With a bit of chutzpah and a clear vision, he rallied a team of engineers, illustrator Brandon Land, and luckily, me.
This bottom-up effort ultimately surpassed expectations, dramatically improved the user experience (with data to show for it!), and was featured favorably in Wired.
I worked with Alex, Brandon, and the research team to:
Dramatically simplify the sign-up/sign-in process, while also making it more friendly
Redesign the confusing "Favorites" feature, which became "Offline," and was later improved on other platforms too
Surface actions and menu items in the right places, while removing clutter
