Cupcake Club: November
Vanilla cupcakes with maple buttercream frosting.
I have a thing about subscriptions. Not only traditional magazines. Cheese of the month club. Shoes of the month club. Chapstick of the month club. I don’t even care what it is, but if it promises to show up in the mail and surprise me every month, I probably want it.
When I was little, I had a stamp subscription. As in, postage stamps. (I know, nerd). And every month, I’d get a little package of cancelled stamps from all over the world. I thought it was the greatest thing ever. I would do my best to sort them all by country and store them in a little album.
These days, my subscriptions are all contained by Google Reader and organized by theme. Food blogs. Dessert blogs. Cupcake blogs. Favorite cupcake blogs. You know what I mean. (Don’t you?)
But sometimes it’s still nice to have something you can hold in your hand. So I made these. They’re November cupcakes. That means they have real maple syrup in the frosting. Obviously.
They didn’t come in the mail, but they did pop out of my oven looking very cute.

I wouldn’t be surprised if something similar happened next month, around the time I’ve finished papers and exams and collapsed in front of an empty, sad-looking refrigerator.
For now, it’s still November (yes, november), and this is the cupcake club, issue 1.
